Foresters from Indonesia recently visited the Zuni Mountains to learn how the Cibola National Forest is restoring resilience to forests in the Zuni Mountains. The visit was part of an ongoing partnership between the Cibola National Forest, the International Programs of the U.S. Forest Service, and the Indonesian Government.

The visit to the Zuni Mountains included presentations from Cibola NF staff and partners about fire management, collaboration, and the organizational structure of varying levels Forest Service personnel. Our Indonesian visitors are looking to apply the lessons learned on their visit to forest management in their home country.

The learning exchange continues as Cibola National Forest Supervisor Elaine Kohrman, Matt Rau, Cibola National Forest Fire Staff Officer, and Jim Gumm, El Rito District Ranger are currently visiting Indonesia.
